Creating global citizens of tomorrow

THERE is no denying the importance of a strong educational foundation towards building the generation of tomorrow.

As the world has evolved to become increasingly globalised, the next generation would need to be versatile to adapt to the changes and times to realise their true potential.

This makes choosing the right school even more important to give your child the best possible start in life towards a sound, successful future.

Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) – the first Visible Learning School that offers students a broad range of enriching experiences – is a highly respected school in the Malaysian education landscape for 20 years.

Using evidence-based teaching and learning as advocated by the Visible Learning approach, teachers here focus on teaching strategies that have the greatest effect on student academic outcomes and achievements.

The internationally-recognised curriculum opens doors to universities worldwide and is designed to produce global citizens of tomorrow.

The curriculum nurtures successful learners, confident and creative individuals, and well-informed active citizens who will thrive in a globalised environment.

Being rated “high quality, high equity” by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is testament to the quality of education at AISM.

To make this enriching international education more accessible, AISM is offering full scholarships covering the cost of application fee, deposit, admissions fee and tuition fees.

It is open to Malaysian students not currently enrolled in the school who are completing their O-Level, IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education), IB MYP (International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme), SPM or equivalent examination this year.

Recipients will enrol for Year 11 and 12 towards completing the Higher School Certificate – the starting point to a tertiary education in universities everywhere.

While financial need is taken into consideration, applicants’ academic performance, co-curricular involvement, communication skills and character also form the basis of acceptance for the scholarship.

Interested candidates can find out more about the scholarship and submit their application online here.

Boarding facilities now available

While a quality education is essential, a boarding school experience takes it to the next level, shaping students to be independent away from home and family.

This adds another dimension to their education and equips them with necessary life skills to stand on their own when they venture out to the world.

Commencing January 2021, AISM is offering a home away from home for all AISM learners aged 12 to 18 years at its off-campus boarding house in Putrajaya.

Premium residential amenities are available for full boarding and weekday boarding, which combines the best of both worlds – allowing students to return home for weekends with their families.

Parents can rest assured that AISM provides a caring and supportive environment whereby students can thrive to reach their full potential.

All necessary security measures are taken to keep boarders safe while a resident house parent oversees boarders’ pastoral and social welfare needs.

Being an international environment, students also develop intercultural understanding and openness from living together. This would stand them in good stead to face the challenges ahead in an increasingly globalised world.

The time spent in the boarding house will be put to good use with fun activities offering a well-balanced experience that encompasses enriching field trips as well as excursions to charitable organisations and good causes.
