GIVEN that there are still many households in East Malaysia that have yet to enjoy the convenience of electricity, it is no surprise that most dilapidated schools in the country are in Sabah and Sarawak.

Sarawak Teachers’ Union (STU) president Joseph Macky said the lack of facilities and a decent learning environment greatly affect the teaching and learning process for teachers and students in the state.
