THE Malayan Teachers Training College (MTTC), Kirkby, England, was dissolved in December 1962, with the last intake of 150 qualified teachers undergoing a one-year “trainers” course.

Although 57 years have elapsed, its spirit continues to live on with its graduates meeting annually to breathe life into it. The recent gathering of 75 past students at a hotel in Taiping, from Sept 27 to 29, bore testimony to the vibrant spirit of its graduates as they hugged and mingled with one another, and recalled their exploits of college days.
