PETER Tabichi who was named the winner of the Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize 2019 in March, says Malaysian teachers deserve huge recognition for the key roles they play in building a brighter new decade for Malaysia in the face of global challenges such as climate change, conflict, inequality and automation

The US$1mil (RM4.25mil) prize money is presented annually to an exceptional teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession.
