THE best way to find out what your dream college or university can offer is to experience the campus in person. Not only would you get the feel of the place, you can also talk to industry experts who can advise you on the requirements for the course and programme best suited towards you.
For that most academic institutions now hold open days, which are activity-driven and crammed full of information. They are also fun-filled, and you can even get to meet future classmates and sometimes, long-time friends there.
Sunway College and Sunway University’s Open Day is two days packed with talks, tours and meet-and-greet with lecturers including many of the student community, who serve as ambassadors.
There will be also live performances, course tryouts and even hands-on lab visits. Sunway offers an interactive 48 hours not to be missed.
Explore your potential
Perhaps the most confusing thing for a high school student is not knowing what to expect when they take up a course — the demands, their own expectations and the methods to achieve the scores they strive for. Sunway College and Sunway University’s Open Day allows potential students to explore the various pre-university studies options.
For each of the five pre-university programmes available, you can take a 30-minute mock session to find out the one that suits you best, in terms of how you learn, how things are taught and how you are expected perform in class, labs or during examinations.
The courses include Cambridge GCE A-Level, Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT), the Canadian International Matriculation Programme (CIMP), the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) and Sunway’s own Foundation in Arts (FIA) and Foundation in Science & Technology (FIST).
