THE University of Nottingham Malaysia won the 10th Nottingham Tri Campus Games hosted by the University of Nottingham UK, making it a second win following its previous victory in 2015.
The Malaysia team defeated teams from the University of Nottingham campuses in the UK and China. A unique event within the higher education sporting calendar, the games brings together students from the university’s three international campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia annually.
Provost and CEO Profr Graham Kendall: “We are proud of our students’ success, both in their academic endeavours and also in many other activities they undertake.”
He said organising such an event was no easy task and all those involved should be congratulated.
“It demonstrates how the three campuses can work together in a competitive, yet harmonious way,” he said.
Teams competed in football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, squash, tennis, table tennis and frisbee. The team was led by University of Nottingham Malaysia sports manager Muhammad Affendi Faizal Zubir.
The Malaysia Campus previously hosted the games and will do so again next year.
It is held on a rotation basis between the three campuses.
