CALLING all secondary school students! Want to win an all-expenses-paid trip to South Korea or Resorts World Genting? Take part in Star-NiE’s Star Flicks movie poster contest this year.
In teams of four, participants are required to design a movie poster – containing a movie title, movie tagline and main graphic (in the form of a drawing, abstract art or photograph) – that conveys an issue highlighted in an article from The Star newspaper published in the year 2018.
The issue chosen must be based on one of the following themes: health, social values, education, charity, environment, technology, safety, and relationships.
Participants are also required to provide a 150-word write-up about the plot summary of the movie and the message they wish to convey through their movie poster.
To take part in the contest, each team must use the original contest template, which will be published in the NiE pullout on Apr 11.
Published on Wednesdays, The Star’s Newspaper-in-Education (NiE) pullout promotes English language learning in a fun, easy and effective manner.
It is available only through school subscriptions of The Star. Subscribe through your school or call The Star’s Customer Care Unit at 1-300-88-7827.
