THE China Philharmonic revealed the design for its new concert hall designed by MAD Architects, which will serve as home base for the orchestra beginning in 2019.
The focus of the design is a 1,600-seat concert hall, housed in a building whose translucent facade will give off a soft glow and is intended to evoke a piece of jade. Lush greenery and a lotus pond will surround the building, while inside the hall, the seating layout aims to bring to mind sloping terraces, with "wooden lakes" surrounding the stage.
