Limkokwing University has announced a defining achievement in surpassing other higher educational institutions with the most followers on Twitter.
Data from the Twitter Analytics page showed that Limkokwing University currently has 648,000 followers. Based on Socialbakers’ social media analytics page, Limkokwing University has the highest number of Twitter followers among higher educational institutions in the world.
The number of followers surpasses even the top five higher educational institutions in the US - Harvard University (637,000 followers), Khan Academy (511,000 followers), Stanford University (427,000 followers), MIT (379,000 followers) and Coursera (322,000 followers) - and the top two higher educational institutions in the UK: Oxford University (301,000 followers) and Cambridge University (269,000 followers).
This achievement followed another milestone where Limkokwing University had previously ranked in the top 10 world’s most liked universities on social media site, Facebook.
Based on Socialbakers’ data and backed by Facebook Page metric data analytic site, Limkokwing University is currently ranked third on Facebook behind only Harvard and Oxford with almost 2mil likes to date.
The university is the first Malaysian university to be on the list and is the fastest moving in popularity with a weekly growth average of 30,000 likes, moving three times faster than Harvard University.
These rankings, particularly the sustained upward movement by the university over the last several years with its recognition as a “21st Century ready University”, show Limkokwing University’s continuation of excellence worldwide.
