Ahoy, classes on land and water

Going aboard: The MV Mahsuri is one of two training vessels acquired for the university to conduct its programmes. Inset: Dr Halim says students will live on board and experience what it’s like to be at sea.

COME August 2016, the first batch of Meritus University students will board a beautiful three-masted tall ship christened the MV Mahsuri.

If you have no idea what such a ship looks like, imagine a vessel that looks like it belongs to the East India Company circa 1600s with large billowing white sails and beautiful wooden hulls.
