Handphones in schools

STATE Committee on Education, Transportation and Works chairman Datuk Tajul Urus Mat Zain has suggested that students should only be allowed to bring handphones with basic functions to schools.

He said the handphones should be used solely for sending short messages (SMS) and making calls. Smartphones with varied functions should not be necessary."Nowadays, there are countries that allow students to take their phones to school, but the type of phones are basically for receiving and making calls and there are companies offering simple phones with just these functions.
