A retired teacher is still spreading the message of unity and moderation both in class and on the field. FOR retired teacher Moira Tan Siew See, 65, there’s naturally no better time to touch on independence than in the days leading up to National Day.

Tan, who currently teaches English to secondary school students at a tuition centre in Selangor, makes an effort to pick lessons which relate to Malaysian history, especially the struggle towards attaining independence.
