An insight on medicine and dentistry

Vital factors: Dr Kuljit reminded students that compassion and humility were important qualities for a doctor.

AT the career talk on “Medicine and Dentistry”, Malaysian Medical Association’s Berita MMA editor Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh offered students an entertaining and realistic view of what it takes to be a doctor.

He reminded students that compassion and humility were important qualities that were needed in a good doctor. “If you realise after going into medical practice that this sort of working life is not for you, then there are other areas that you can go into. For example, you can be a hospital administrator, carry out research, join the pharmaceutical industry, work for the insurance industry or even teach in universities,” he said.
