UNIVERSITI Malaysia Pahang (UMP) will be introducing three new faculties that will boost its standing as a competency-based technical university specialising in engineering and technology. The new faculties — marine engineering, creative technology and building engineering — will offer eight bachelor programmes. UMP now has seven faculties offering 17 programmes.
According to its deputy vice-chancellor (academic and international), Prof Dr Sabarudin Mohd, this development is in line with UMP’s target of having between 7,000 and 8,000 students by 2010.
