Poll in favour of English


ENGLISH is the language of choice for teaching Mathematics and Science in school for most of The Star readers who took part in a StarEducation poll recently. A total of 85.4% of 790 respondents in the “Teaching Maths and Science in English” poll say that they are in favour of Maths and Science being taught in English compared with only 14.3% who chose their mother tongue (Bahasa, Chinese or Tamil). 

According to the poll, 83% believe that teaching Maths and Science in English makes students more proficient in English compared with 11% who think otherwise and 6% who are not sure.
