Wayang kulit show

A WAYANG kulit performance (shadow play) will be staged by the first year students of Akademi Seni Kebangsaan (ASK) as part of their studies of the traditional art form at the amphitheatre in Malaysia Tourism Complex at 8.30pm from March 3 to 8.

Wayang kulit is a compulsory course module at ASK.

The historical components of the course are delivered within the classroom environment by leading Malaysian scholar Prof Dr Ghulam Sarwar Yousoff, while the performance component is necessary for any credible performing arts programme.

This year, the students will perform dewek, which is derived from the epic Ramayana.
