EVER notice that when you have a child in Form 4, most people just leave you and your child to your own business? But, when that same child turns 17 and is turning the corner towards his SPM examination, some very well-meaning people start inquiring ever so often what you plan to do for that teenager of yours in the coming year. The emphasis is on the word “you”. As in “you”, the parent, know what I mean?
Well, traditionally speaking, I suppose they can be excused. After all, most people today still think it is the parents who should decide where the child goes and what studies he takes up to carve out a career path for himself.
