Malaysian wins International Public Speaking award


From the moment she spoke, you could tell that Malaysia's Wong Xiao Qing believed in the message she was conveying: that we should strive to understand one other and believe we can make a difference to the world, no matter how small our contribution.  

For Help Institute's Xiao Qing, simplicity was the key. Using a story to illustrate her point, she told of a native throwing an oxygen-deprived starfish back into the sea, much to the amusement of a tourist who thought it an insignificant deed. However, this “insignificant deed” ensured the starfish's survival.
