Too much of an educationist to retire

TAN SRI Dr Anuwar Ali firmly believes that an educationist never retires and that education is lifelong learning. Hence, it came as no surprise that this former vice-chancellor (VC) was brought out of retirement and appointed Open University Malaysia's (OUM) president in January.

He brings with him a wealth of experience – he held various posts in the public and corporate sectors and was seconded to the Education Ministry in 1995 as the first deputy director-general of the then newly set up Higher Education Department.
