Many facets of fashion

AS A child, Goh Pei Ying liked nothing better than to dress up her dolls. The 20-year-old, who had a collection of Barbie dolls, recalls sewing her dolls' clothes from leftover materials.

''My grandmother was a tailor and I was always in awe of how she could turn a simple piece of cloth into something really fashionable. She would give me the leftover material and encourage me to sew dresses for my dolls,'' shares Pei Ying who has just completed an advanced diploma in fashion design at Raffles LaSalle Institute.
