UNIVERSITY College Sedaya International (UCSI) will be adjusting its intake dates to suit students called up for national service next year.
Its vice-president of corporate affairs, Chin Peng Kit, said that the board of management has agreed that the new intake dates for USCI foundation programmes and diploma programmes would be Dec 20 and April 29, June 25 and Aug 26.
“The new and additional intake dates will allow students who are not involved in the first three batches of the national service to follow the regular semester and examination. This will enable students who are called for national service to maximise their study schedules,” said Chin.
Students who will be undergoing national service will have the flexibility of joining a regular semester at USCI before national service, do their duty for the country and then return to resume their studies with the least possible interruption.
USCI will also be conducting additional and intensive classes for students where necessary.
“New intake dates have been set for the A-Levels, which will fall on Jan 5, April 19 and June 28,” said Chin.
USCI will continue to monitor the latest developments arising from national service to ensure that prospective students called up for duty will not lose out in their pursuit of higher education. For enquiries, students can call the University Counselling Office at 03-9132 9326.
Alternatively, they can visit UCSI's Open Day today, at its campus in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
Students who enrol for any degree programme will have the opportunity to purchase a UCSI-HP laptop at RM1,700. “We are a wireless campus, so we encourage our students to own their own laptops at an affordable price,” says Chin.
