LEARNING music ought to be lots of fun for children, not something they are coerced into doing. Yet, all too often, we see children dragging their feet to piano or violin classes, all because their well-meaning parents are eager to equip them with musical skills.
Interest in music can be cultivated in the young. In fact, says Mama Treble Clef Studio principal Allicia Lim, children have an inborn ability to sing and move rhythmically, and if they are introduced to music early and in a fun way, they can cross that important bridge that takes them from general music learning to mastering an instrument.
