Being away from his wife and two children for long periods of time was just one of the many sacrifices that Indonesian Bambang Suryadi had to make while getting his doctorate in education from Universiti Malaya (UM).
“I miss them dearly and I am looking forward to this September when I will be reunited with my family,” said Bambang, 33, who came to Malaysia in 1995 to pursue his master's degree at the International Islamic University Malaysia.
