SEDAYA International College won the Company of the Year Award from the Malaysia Canada Business Council (MCBC) at the 2003 Business Excellence Awards held recently.

Sedaya president and chief executive officer Peter Ng received the award from International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz.

Ng said the award was in recognition of the hard work put in by the staff of Sedaya. “We also owe it to our growing student population, for their continuous support for Sedaya.”

He said the college has received an invitation from the Education Ministry to join the league of university colleges in Malaysia.

“The Company of the Year Award from the MCBC is a prelude to greater things to come,” said Ng, for whom this is the second honour from the council.

Last year, he received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from MCBC for his leadership of Sedaya which has become one of the key providers of higher education in the country.

Sedaya also received an honourable mention in the Good Corporate Citizen Award category for being a college which has made a significant contribution to community development in the area of environmental awareness, and in carrying out programmes to help the underprivileged and less fortunate in society.
