History lessons on Astro

ASTRO’S educational channel – TVIQ – has added history to its line-up of programmes sourced from The History Channel (THC). 

From tomorrow, viewers in Malaysia will have access to a collection of programmes that highlights key historical events and people from all corners of the world. 

“THC is one of the fastest-growing and most popular brands in the television industry with rapid growth in Europe, Latin America and now, Asia,” said Astro's head of programming Zainir Aminullah at the launch of THC on Astro recently.  

With over 3,500 hours of quality programmes in its library, THC is viewed in 150 million homes in more than 70 countries, in over 20 languages. 

Astro will air THC on TVIQ (channel 14) from tomorrow and over Astro Ria from Friday. Viewers can look forward to five hours of THC on TVIQ every week (1pm Monday to Friday), with repeats at 10pm, and on weekends. 

The programmes are divided into several categories: Ancient History, History's Mysteries, Technology & Transport, and Military History & Conflict. There is also THC's Limited Series on captivating topics. 

Marrying education with entertainment, TVIQ's edutainment programmes provide a colourful and upbeat slant to learning everything from Mathematics to Science, languages ? and, of course, History.
