CHINA Democratic League Central Committee executive vice-chairman Chen Xiaoguang paid a courtesy call on Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir during his visit to Perak last weekend.
Following a closed-door meeting with Dr Zambry at his official residence on Saturday morning, Chen and his entourage then visited various landmarks in Ipoh.
They made a brief stop at the Ipoh Railway Station Cenotaph before visiting the Perak Cave Temple and savouring sweet and juicy pomelos in Tambun.
Accompanying them on their trip was state executive councillor and state MCA chief Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, who described the visit as an honour for the people of Perak.
Speaking during a lunch hosted by Perak MCA, Chen said Malaysia and China enjoyed good bilateral relations because of the close working relationship between the people and leaders of both countries.
“We had a fruitful discussion with the Mentri Besar and hopefully in future, Perak and the various provinces in China can achieve even greater cooperation,” said Chen.
