Illegal harvesting of gaharu rife at national park in Mersing


JOHOR BARU: Illegal harvesting activities of agarwood (gaharu) by foreigners are rampant in Johor especially in the Endau-Rompin National Park in Mersing.

Mersing District Officer Mohd Nasir Abd Salam said the activities have been on-going for years but was difficult to detect due the vast area of the national park spanning more than 80,000ha.
