Lion King: The first Malaysian white lion cub named King.
KUANTAN: Holidaymakers to Kuantan during the ongoing school holidays have more reason to visit the Safari Park of Bukit Gambang Resort City now.
Its marketing and communications manager Karen Tan said the resort had launched a special “Guess My Birthday” contest to promote the park, in conjunction with the birth of the first Malaysian white lion cub.
Tan said the cub of the Panthera Leo Krugeri species from Africa, which was less than a year old, had been named King.
“Each visitor with a wristband will be given one contest form to guess the actual date of birth of the cub.
“They must complete the form and drop the entry into a designated box located at the village nursery for a chance to win attractive prizes,” she said.
Tan said the top prize was an iPhone 6 while the next three closest guesses would receive a Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
She said the following 10 closest answers would receive Xiaomi Redmi 1S Android devices and the next 100 closest entries would get four complimentary Safari Park tickets.
“In the event of a tie, the winners will be determined based on the entry date.
“In addition, there are also 10 lucky draw prizes of three-days-two-nights stay at the Arabian Bay and Caribbean Bay Resorts,” she said, adding that all entry forms must have a wristband code and a slogan.
Tan said visitors could visit King at the nursery as well as the brown lion cub named Valentino, which was born on Feb 15 this year.
She said to ensure fairness, none of its employees, family members or relatives were eligible to take part in the contest.
The closing date for the month-long contest is Dec 31.
