No cause for alarm


THE Penang Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) has assured the public that the water levels of the three rivers on the mainland, and one on the island are still below the alert level although they recorded above-normal readings.

State Local Government, Traffic Management and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow said there was no need to open the district flood operation centres as the water levels were showing a declining trend.
