United in protecting women

YOUTH and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin stepped on a skateboard to symbolise his ministry’s support of the “Sirom Walk The Talk – Men on Board – Stop Violence Against Women” event to be held on Nov 30.

At the launch of the campaign, Khairy said police statistics showed that there had been 3,673 cases of domestic violence, 1,225 reports of molestation and a staggering 1,815 rape cases across the country and these were only the reported cases, as many victims were shamed into concealing their bruises and scars and forced to carry the burden of the attack quietly.
