AT the tender age of 16, Samson Wong bought his first piece of embroidered Peranakan kebaya using savings from his monthly allowances.
For him, it was not a fad but a passion for the Peranakan culture and he has now amassed a fine collection of Peranakan batik kebaya and sarongs from the early 1900s to the 1960s.
