I JUST do not see how the Federal Government can approve an increase in oil and gas royalties for Sarawak from 5% to 20% anytime soon – if indeed ever.
Why I am pessimistic? Just look at the national debt. The Federal Government has said many times it intends to reduce debt. So far, it has done so. And where has the bulk of national revenue come from? Oil and gas.
