Celebrating Malaysia’s tastemakers

LIFE Inspired TV (Li TV) celebrated the personalities of its 30-minute series, Tastemaker, at the Pavilion Hilltop Property Gallery in Mon’t Kiara, Kuala Lumpur.

Set against the backdrop of local and international settings, the show follows six Malaysian tastemakers making splashes in their own fields, including founder of ice-cream brand The Last Polka, Tee May Yee, artist Boey Chee Ming, architect Farah Azizan, artist and content developer Marini Ramlan, product designer Benson Saw and Paris-based fashion designer Jonathan Liang.

The Merriam-Webster Online dictionary defines tastemaker as “a person whose judgments about what is good, fashionable, etc., are accepted and followed by many other people” and the event celebrates the success of some of our country’s talents.

The Tastemakers celebration, which also functioned as an appreciation night for the personalities, saw models wearing timepieces by Bedat and Co while the four Tastemakers who were present, Tee, Marini, Farah and Saw, were presented with a Frame Award.
