Strict quality control to ensure ramen tastes like it does in Japan

Bariuma Ramen Restaurant is the newest Japanese food place in PJ. Serves ramen made by head chef Eden Ong on September 16, 2014. FAIHAN GHANI/The Star.

BRINGING over a ramen brand like Bari-Uma from Japan is never an easy task, especially when the plan is to open a restaurant in Jaya Shopping Centre – a neighbourhood mall that holds many memories for the people of Petaling Jaya.

With 40 eateries (most in Japan, one in Singapore and the latest in Petaling Jaya), Bari-Uma is strict on quality control and ensuring that the ramen here tastes just like the noodles in Japan, said Nippon Delicious co-director Elvin Siew.
