Recent ATM heists prove that we need to go back to fundamentals

I AM very concerned that thieves from halfway round the world can find a way to hack into ATMs and withdraw all the cash from these machines. So far more than RM3.1mil has been stolen from the ATMs of four local and foreign banks.

Previously, we have had cases of money being illegally withdrawn from bank accounts by thieves who installed skimmers and electronic devices that read data from customers’ cards.
