Dengue alert in the state following 161% spike in cases


THE number of dengue cases in Penang from Jan 1 to Sept 27 has seen a sharp increase of 161.5% or 987 cases compared with that of the same corresponding period last year.

State Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Rural Development and Health Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin said 1,598 cases were reported during this period compared with only 611 cases last year.
