Thai touch to festive do

IT was a rare spiritual display as Taoist devotees took part in a grand procession held in Alor Setar in conjunction with the Nine Emperor Gods Festival, also known as Kew Ong Yeah.

Held in a way similar to the one in Phuket, Thailand, the procession saw 16 mediums (kee tong in Hokkien dialect) brought in from the Songkhla province to take part in the nine-day vegetarian festival.
