A stainless steel arch is being built at Kg Baru Seri Setia in Petaling Jaya.
Village head Ding Eow Chai said construction work on the 20m tall arch located along Jalan SS9A/14 started in August and should be completed by next month.
“This will be a notable landmark for the village.
“We have been waiting for this for five years,” said Ding when met at the village recently.
The village’s Community Security and Development Committee (JKKK) had submitted their application to the Petaling Jaya City Council five years ago.
He said the RM38,000 project funded by the state government, is being built by DC Resources, a Shah Alam-based contractor.
Ding said the village had about 700 houses.
The work will be monitored by the JKKK and Bukit Tunku assemblyman Lau Weng San. Kg Baru Seri Setia is also known as Sungai Way New Village.
