MPS tears down renovations after numerous warnings were ignored

Bringing the house down: A council working using the bucket arm of a backhoe to demolish parts of the two-storey house, which was renovated into an illegal shoplot.

THOSE who have carried out illegal renovations in areas under the jurisdiction of the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) have been warned to act before the council takes the necessary action.

A houseowner in Taman Selayang Utama learned the hard way yesterday not to ignore the council’s warnings and a RM25,000 compound notice against converting his home into a restaurant.
