Kongsi chairman Khoo Kay Hock said the book documented the migration of the Hokkien forefathers to Penang in the 18th century, who settled down and formed the Goh Tai She Kongsi - namely Cheah, Khoo, Lim, Tan and Yeoh - 158 years ago.
“The Hokkien Kongsi also controls five temples in Penang - the Snake Temple in Bayan Lepas, Tai Tay Yeah Temple in Jelutong, Siew Thean Keong in Jalan Datuk Keramat, Seng Hong Beow in Jalan C.Y. Choy, and Chooi Bee Keong in Jalan Tanjong Tokong,” he said at the dinner held at the CRC Restaurant in George Town on Saturday.
