Traffic lights needed at zebra crossing, say residents

Safety first: Residents in Ujong Pasir want the authorities to install traffic lights at the zebra crossing.

MALACCA: Over 50 senior citizens in Ujong Pasir have appealed to the Malacca Historic City Council (MBMB) for traffic lights to be installed at the zebra crossing in front of a health clinic.

They said that several people have been fatally injured over a five-year period as motorists ignore traffic rules that require they stop upon seeing pedestrians at the zebra crossing.
