The homeless want to be heard

MOHD Kamil, 65, who was originally from Malacca and has been homeless for three months, was one of the most articulate of the street people I met last Thursday. I was on my way to Chow Kit when I bumped into Kamil, who lives under a bridge in Sungai Gombak with four other people.

“We get weird glances from the public but we just have to get on with our lives,” said Kamil who used to stay on a rubber estate and loves watching the late Tamil actor M.G. Ramachandran’s films.
