KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak’s Head of State Tan Sri Taib Mahmud has been conferred the nation’s highest award, the Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara (SMN), which carries the title Tun by the Yang di-Pertuan Agung Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.
He received the award during a special investiture ceremony held at the Balai Rong Seri (Throne Room) of the Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur yesterday morning.
