Flying out four times a week

FROM June 23, Air France will be operating four weekly direct flights, using the Boeing 777-200, between Paris and Kuala Lumpur.

The increased frequency comes a year after the airline’s inaugural direct KL-Paris flight in April last year.

Air France Malaysia country manager Estee Ng said response for the direct flights had been good, which was why the airline decided to add an extra Monday night flight to the regular Tuesday, Friday and Sunday flights.

With the additional flight, the airline connects Kuala Lumpur and Europe 18 times a week, including daily KLM flights to Amsterdam and code-share flights with Malaysia Airlines.

Ng said she was expecting better sales growth this year, thanks to the extra flight, as it would offer customers greater flexibility in organising trips.

Air France is celebrating the increased frequency by offering an all-in round-trip fare for economy class to Paris at RM2,699 and Barcelona (RM2,899).

The promotion ends on May 31, and travel period is from June 22 to July 22, 2014.

Until the end of the year, passengers flying with Air France get to stopover for free in Paris en route to other European destinations.

Three lucky passengers flying with Air France on June 23 will win a Rafflesia pearl necklace worth RM5,000 each.

The randomly selected winners will be notified upon check-in at the airport.

Rafflesia director Winnie Sin said last year’s collaboration with the airline was a success, which prompted the luxury jewellery centre to continue bringing joy to passengers.

Five Malaysian celebrities — Tasha Shilla, Hairul Azreen, Kamal Adli, Miera Leyana, and Fizo Omar — will also be on board the first Monday night flight to Paris, connecting to Barcelona, Spain.
