YANG di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas has commended the state government’s proposal to increase water tariffs as a countermeasure to water wastage and rationing.
“I am happy that water rationing was not imposed in Penang when other states had to. We should conserve water in preparation for the possibility of the upcoming El Nino phenomenon (an occurrence of warm ocean temperatures in the South Pacific that can create extreme droughts and floods worldwide).
