Pakatan reps want government to resolve assessment hike for factory operators

SEVERAL Pakatan Rakyat elected representatives handed over a joint memorandum to the Perak government on the hike in assessment fees imposed on commercial and industrial lots by the Ipoh City Council.

Sungai Rapat assemblyman Radzi Zainon said the increase in assessment, due to the upward re-evaluation of annual property value as well as assessment rate from 10% to 16%, was a burden to factory operators, who were already saddled with the rising costs of utility bills and raw materials.
