ILLEGAL GAMING outlets are still operating in Dengkil and Kota Warisan in Sepang despite constant raids.

A check last Thursday showed active operations at two gaming outlets in Deluxe Commercial Centre, one at a commercial area in Jalan Banting, six outlets in Kota Warisan, mainly in Jalan Gemilang 1, and several other business areas.

These outlets are said to be running round the clock.

A resident, who wished to be known only as Leong, said before this, there were about 40 outlets in Dengkil but many closed operations temporarily following a few raids.

“However, there are still a few operators, who are said to have connections with high-ranking officials, operating without fear.

“Some of the outlets run round the clock with helpers keeping a close watch outside the gaming centres.

“For instance, in Jalan Bintang Mas 1, along Jalan Banting and in the Deluxe Commercial area in Dengkil, gaming outlets mostly operate after 9pm and close in the wee hours to avoid detection’’ he said.

He added that the gaming centres had patrons who were well informed of the opening of new outlets within the vicinity.

StarMetro’s headline “Behind Closed Doors” on March 27 reported that gaming outlets in Port Klang and Dengkil were being patronised by many people.

The premises were identifiable through their tinted doors, back entrances and grilles, with closed-circuit television cameras installed outside the buildings.
