KUCHING: A family living in poverty will receive assistance from the Welfare Department and District Office after their plight caught the attention of Welfare, Women and Family Development Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah.
Fatimah visited Chai Min Chiap, 47, his wife Veronica Gaweng, 36, and their four children at their home in Stapok-Segedup, Batu Kawa, yesterday after reading about the family in a local daily.
