Fire department to get additional fire engines with bigger tanks


Working non-stop: Firemen carrying a water pump to be loaded on to a four-wheel drive vehicle and driven approximately 2km in to the Bukit Changgang forest reserve to help in firefighting efforts.

WHILE the rain brought some relief against the heat in the Klang Valley, the haze and smell of smoke remain. They are a reminder of the persisting fires and open burning, as well as the firemen working day and night to douse the flames.

Selangor’s Fire and Rescue Department will receive a much-needed boost to its operations with new equipment coming in throughout this month.
