Stop G5 readmission process until SPDP grassroots consulted, Mawan told

MIRI: The No. 2 man in SPDP has made an urgent request to the party’s No. 1 to immediately halt the process of readmitting members of the Group of Five (G5) sacked from the party two years ago.

SPDP deputy president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing yesterday urged party president Tan Sri William Mawan to stop all moves to get any of the five — Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Peter Nansian, Marudi assemblyman Datuk Sylvester Entri, Bekenu assemblyman Rosey Yunus, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Gumbang and former Mas Gading MP Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe — readmitted into the party, saying strong grassroots resistance had emerged in certain parts of Sarawak against the decision by Mawan to readmit them.
